The Houston Texans will reportedly not sign any players who have protested the National Anthem in any way.
Jerome Solomon wrote for the Houston Chronicle:
I spoke with two NFL agents this week who said word is the Texans aren’t interested in any players who participated in pregame kneel-downs in protest of police brutality.
There is no directive within the organization, but it is considered to be understood that as desperate as the Texans are to bring in talent, the pool of potential signees and draftees will not include anyone who has participated in protests or are likely to.
Solomon’s report is accurate, this is terrific news and i support this strongly. I think i can speak for everyone else when i say i have had it with the blatant disrespect to our nation and those who have fought so hard to keep it free.
Americans don’t want to feel like they are under attack when they watch a game of football. They want to kick back. relax, pop a beer open, and watch some American football.
With this news, hopefully more teams with follow suit with this new policy. If owners and management hammered down on this rule, then maybe more players nationwide would think twice before insulting our country.
